Happy St. Patrick's Day

Hello my four leaf clovers, how are you today? Did you have a lovely weekend? It's breezy springy here and I'm enjoying the dose of Vitamin D for sure.

Both Bret and I are a wee bit Irish, so back in the day I'd sew up some novelty shamrock wear for the girl. What you can't see is that Frankie's rocking the 80's bangs and giant hair bow under her novelty hat. This is one of the many crazy holiday pictures we had taken, scorned by others at the mall.

So who's cooking corned beef tonight?? (Or pink-meat as Frankie used to call it!) None for us this year, Bret is working late and it's not like I'm making the whole boiled dinner just for myself.

Sew...... Tell me what you're up to.. don't make me come there and pinch you!

p.s. Ricky Tims was on CBS yesterday morning, talking quilts! check it out!

My husband's birthday is tomorrow, my two kids and their spouses along with my one grandchild are coming for supper and we're ordering Chinese! How non-Irish is that!

You are such a good mom to have sewn up fun outfits for your girl!

(But such a BAD mom for revealing Frankie's secret past..ha ha. Is she cringing at the picture?)

That's a damn cute picture.

Such a cute picture of your daughter. She's a cutie.

My contribution is fairly nill. My blog pics and the green shirt I wore to work today.

When my kids were little I used to make green eggs and ham or green oatmeal for breakfast on St. Paddy's day adding a little food color into the mix. Somehow the food seemed to taste different with that food color in it, even though you know it really couldn't.

Fun stuff.

Oh too cute! You're such a good mom!

No pink meat for us tonight (I''m the only one who likes it). Gonna bbq some steaks, but may have to make some boiled potatoes to get in the spirit of things. Not wearing green either - I'm just lookin' for trouble. Gahead. Pinch me.

Happy St. P's Day!

Do hot dogs count as pink meat? I went to Crochet Guild today (March is National Crochet Month) and was shown three new things. I can't do any of them. The theme was Irish stitch.. but the directions were in Japanese. Go figure. If I sit and actually master anything.. it's gonna mean hot dogs served all around, there's no time for cookin'.

Happy St. Patties Day Pamkins. That pic of Frankie is adorable. I'm pinching myself for you as I'm not wearing green.

It's every Mom's God given right to take extremely embarrasing pictures of their children for the sole purpose of showing them to the world at any given time when they are grown up.

I swear - it's in the Mom Manual, Chapter 5, paragrah 3 section 2.

LOVE THE BANGS!

I'm Italian so no boiled dinner here. We're having grilled chicken and veggies tonight. Only healthy!! The kids inevitably will dip the chicken in some type of BBQ sauce, which I have learn to stray from! Anyway, I hope yours is a Happy St. Patricks day and you enjoy whatever meal you cook up!

Cute Frankie outfit! What a mom.

Corned beef, dyed green mashed pototoes, and green beans. And, maybe, something green for dessert - jello, pudding or maybe mint chocolate chip ice cream.

Yeah, we had lasagna and cheese filled breadsticks. Yum. I am the only one in the family who likes corned beef. The others are just crazy! The pic of Frankie is ADORABLE! I love the dress and she posed like a supermodel, even way back then. :)

Your little Frankie girl is SOO CUTE! Doesn't time just fly?
I couldn't talk John into the pink meat so we went out for chile verde instead. ;-)

We did the whole corned beef, cabbage, potatoes, turnips and carrots Friday because that was only day some special friends had available. Made homemake Irish soda bread too. My husband does all the cooking. I ground the wheat! Tonight we had dinner with friends and ate homecooked chinese. We wore green. Pinch that Happy Zombie!

Now, that is just the cutest darn picture ever!
Of course we had corned beef last night! My dad was horrified that I had left buying the meat until the DAY itself! He was afraid the store might run out! My special recipe involves Jack Daniels in the glaze---very popular with the men in the family.
