Monday

How did the weekend go? Three day for us, Bret had Friday off, although he ended up working  the whole day Friday.  Even Frankie worked at home, so it was kind of a "be quiet" day with people on the phone etc.

Those kinds of days make for good sewing days. I finished my butterflies. Bodies are funky..another case of better in my imagination but I've decided to be cool with it. But not cool enough to not mention it apparently.

Here they all are hanging on my design tablecloth. Ha! Yup, I have a flannel backed vinyl tablecloth at the end of the hallway. Colors aren't good but you can see value just fine, and of course I can back way up and look at things from a distance.  I put it up temporarily  and it's just never come back down.   Hey, doesn't everyone have that?  I do feel envious of people with plenty of space, but but making do is important too.

So can you believe it's OCTOBER?

Ha! I use a flannel backed table cloth too. I use wide blue painters tape and tape it up on the mirrored closet door in the guest room. It's up too for months at a time...well unless I need some fabric from that closet! have a great week Pam.

I have a flannel backed table cloth hanging as well! But mine's in my sewing room. My husband and I own a 1950s motel and live in the "manager's quarters". I am fortunate we have a basement! Its my "man cave" my husband says. I liked the center of your butterflies. It made me think of candy canes!

I love your cute stripey butterfly bodies!
Your 3 rows look so cute together... Your fabric is perfect for the row along Pam...ans so many other things too.
You can add your new line to the quilt too!

Your rows are coming together so well. And they really make for a Wall of Interest hanging on your flannel backed tablecloth.

Cool - I do the same thing - I have a really skinny hallway - so I just had hubby hang up a curtain rod above the closet doors in the room I sew in and I got a package of those little curtain rings with clips on the ends of them and just clipped my flannel backed table cloth to it - I can slide it over like a curtain when I need to get into the closet. I would love a huge, bright room with a design wall, etc. but this works! :O) I think your row along is great! Those are such happy colors!

I, too, am doing that same row by row and it's fun to see yours. I think I'll hang mine up too so I can look at it from afar...Thanks for that idea.

I unpicked mine. Yours is cuter than mine. Now I need the next row. That is the part I don't like. Waiting.

Well I am liking the butterflies. I love your color sense. I don't often work with such whimsical design and color but you do it very well!
I have to confess that I went from a Mayflower moving box years ago as my "sewing room" to a tiny bedroom in our home in Pleasanton, to an amazing 500 square foot room with a huge design wall. Did I mention that I have an island, a window seat and wonderful storage. Of course I am rarely in it these days, but things are looking up in that area and I will be able to spend more time there in the future. Just want you to know that I really enjoy your blog and am so fortunate once again to have such talented friends. Keep going, we love it and you

I love the butterflies and how they're not all lined up like butterfly soliders! I like the "V" border - imitates their antennae.

I used a flannel-backed vinyl tablecloth too. No need to purchase expensive gridded fabric for the same thing I already had in the drawer.
